PRE-GAME START ANNOUNCEMENTS!!

Hey guys, Madi here with some announcements and info for game start! Please read this post, it's got lots of important information for the game's opening!

First off, as you know, the deadline for apps for game start was last night! If you missed the cutoff, never fear -- apps will reopen in a couple of weeks once the game has gotten rolling, exact date TBD. Everyone who's already submitted their apps: I'll be reviewing them and responding shortly, so sit tight!!

Of interest to everyone, but especially those who haven't submitted apps yet: some changes have been made to the application. Nothing huge or earth-shaking, but on Harry's suggestion I've expanded the Invasion section to include how your characters comes about joining the resistance (for characters not present at game start), and added a section for listing NPCs relevant to your character (which is more or less optional and also more for my benefit). If you've already submitted your app, don't worry! You don't have to redo anything. But if you feel like adding the NPC section to your existing app, feel free!

I've also added some valuable information to the rules & FAQ page that I recommend checking out! And if you haven't read any of the info pages yet, I recommend checking them out. If you have any questions, feel free to post them to the FAQ page, this post, or hit me up through more direct means.

Regarding pre-game CR: as has already been mentioned, you can keep any threads from the test drive meme that take place prior to game start as canon CR for your characters! But if you didn't post to the test drive, no worries, you can still establish pre-game CR with other characters if you like! There's a thread header in this post for hashing things out amongst yourselves if you like. Pre-game CR is not required by any stretch of the imagination, but it does make things more interesting, particularly for the intro log. Speaking of which...

The game will officially open sometime this week with an intro log, which will involve all characters currently in the game! (Hence the need for an app cutoff!) But as you might have guessed, that is a LOT OF CHARACTERS, so I've come up with a solution to keep the log from getting bogged down with huge party threading. The intro log, as you might have guessed, is your characters' first encounter with Tespil, the Andalite-Controller who starts the resistance on Earth, and the beginnings of the resistance. In order to keep the party threading to a minimum, the log will be broken into three parts (under separate thread headers):

1) Characters will all arrive on the scene of Tespil's crash landing, and she'll give a big ol' exposition dump speech about the situation. This'll be the only actual thread with every character in it, but I don't expect each character to have more than 2-3 tags each for this thread. The idea is to keep the unwieldy threading to a minimum, so it'll end when Tespil's exposition dump does.

2) Q&A with Tespil! Once she's done explaining the situation, your characters will have some time to process what the shit just went on and then, of course, bombard her with questions. Presumably these will be one-on-one (or perhaps two-on-one, if you so please) threads with Tespil.

3) Mingling time! Feel free to have your characters join in mutual boggling at the situation after Tespil's exposition speeches, while other characters ask her questions. This way everybody gets a chance to react to the bizarre circumstances in a group fashion without everyone needing to be part of the same thread!

Okay, that about does it for announcements. Let me know if you've got any questions. The intro log will go up sometime this week, pending how busy my work schedule is. I'm so excited you guys!! SO EXCITED.
